Lake Louise

We posted this in 2012, I believe, on our old page. Slowly moving the best over to this one.

Living in Calgary gives us ample opportunity to hit the Rocky mountains when the urge strikes us.  Banff is an hour from our front door and Lake Louise a little further down the highway.  This shot was taken in Lake Louise in late May, just as winter is loosening its grip on the lake. Lake Louise As Spring Takes Over.

Just A Picture….and a Shameless Plug

First the picture, overlooking Monroe Lake.

Now the plug. Having basically abandoning my blogging, with periodic stabs at reviving my interest, I am now committing to re-learning the techniques. Many changes since my last consistent typing. As I work on that, I am posting on a regular basis on my music site, https://therealcanadianmusicblog.com/ So far so good, have a ton of photos, videos and ideas for both and hope to get back into a regular schedule.

Off To Mazatlan

Flying out 6 AM. Staying at Delta at Calgary airport. The unpaid contributor dropped us off and all it cost was an expensive airport hotel supper. Oh, and drove us in our vehicle.

The Delta at Calgary airport is an older place with good bones. Comfortable rooms, very good restaurant.

Lots of fun to come. Mazatlan has an amazing music scene. Lots of pictures and hopefully a daily synopsis.

Love being back. Brain is emptying.

Pictures tomorrow.

Weekly Photo Challenge – One Love

This week’s challenge, One Love.  As a recent love, we are into sailing, the sheer joy of being at the whims of the wind, and the acquiring of an ancient skill.  No noise except the wind in the sails and the water moving along your waterline. The picture I have chosen is of  our first solo sail on Kootenay Lake in British Columbia, Canada.

Maiden Sail of The SV JohnLoriEh

The maiden post for this site will have to be the maiden voyage of the newly purchased 25 foot O’Day sailboat.  The boat was formerly owned by some very good friends in Saskatchewan.  They delivered the vessel to our location near Balfour BC on Kootenay Lake in the Canadian Rockies.  Took a quick video as we did a shakedown sail on Sunshine Bay.

The sailing is something we will touch on quite often, as this is something Lori and I have tossed around for several years now as a potential retirement thing, or at worst, a leisure activity.
